The mind once enlightened cannot again become dark.
We work intensively with the students from all streams like engineering, medical, commerce, science, art through out their academic years, to get them into the best possible shape and refine their ideas to make it market ready.
Each cycle culminates in demo day, when students present their future companies to a carefully selected, invite-only audience.
What Happens at Student Factories
How do we choose which students to fund?
We'll fund students from anywhere in the india. We fund students doing from different streams from building mobile apps to diagnosing cancer. We'll happily fund students that just started in any field and have nothing more than an idea.
How can we get funding for my idea?
Write to studentfactories@gmail.com for our next idea cycle. We fund students twice a year.
How much do you invest?
We have a standard deal - we'll invest 1,00,000 Rs on a post-money safe in return for 7% of the company when the safe converts.
Will you sign an NDA? How do I know you won't steal my idea?
No, we won't sign an NDA. No venture firm would at this stage.
Will you fund multiple students working on the same idea?
Yes.
I have a great idea for a startup, but I'm not technical. Will you still fund me?
It's important for the founding team to have the skills to build their product themselves, rather than outsourcing it to someone else. For most businesses, that usually means you need a technical co-founder.
Can we apply more than once?
Yes.
Is there any form or application format to apply for idea cycle?
No. Just write a mail describing yourself and your idea. That's it.
Where do we meet?
Most of the sessions will happen one to one online but we do arrange our monthly dinner meetups on the first sunday of the month. And all students and mentors are invited.
Do we have any office?
No. We operate online and most of the mentors working with students prefer working from home.
